Thimbles ‘n Quilts Happy New Year, I hope this newsletter finds you all happy and in good health! Life at the quilt shop is great. New fabric, more books, patterns, tools…..it just can’t get much better! I’ve rearranged a little bit so please stop in and look around! I also hope we all get to sew more this year! There are just so many projects I want to make and classes I want to take! It’s going to be a great year and I’m very thankful that I get to share it with all of you! A stitch or two a day will make everything o.k.! Samme

UFO Challenge- Is still good for 2008! Bring in every finished project (quilted & bound) for a chance to win a $50 gift certificate. Drawing will be held on the last working day of every month.

Upcoming booths Jan30-Feb 2nd Elko Poetry Gathering- our booth will be set up at the Arts Building located at the Elko County Fairgrounds. Stop by, visit, and shop all the goodies. Feb.27-March 3rd -Winnemucca Ranch Hand Rodeo Visit us in the upper deck on the West end of the building. Take a break from bleacher bum go shopping in our booth! March 29th & 30th - B>Great Basin Quilt Festival Elko’s great quilt show lot of quilts to see and many vendors- look and shop to your heart’s content. Be sure to stop in and tell Timmy Lyn how great she is for helping her cousin while “the cousin”(me) is on vacation! (Thank you so much Timmy Lyn)!

New Collections New Collections- stop by or shop the website www.thimblesandquilts.com • Flirtations by Sandy Gervais for Moda- a beautiful Valentine’s Day collection in red, pink, white and brown with a really fun panel. • Gardenia by Linda Lum BeBona for Henry Glass & Co. This is so retro it’s become modern. Check out this cool collection! • Silly Safari by Cheri Strole for Moda Lions, zebras, giraffes, elephants, alligators, monkeys and tigers all in bright primary colors- a perfect match for a child of any age.

Join the Club Machine Embroidery Club- Meets the 1st Saturday of each month. Come, let others inspire you to use for embroidery machines. Annesa Ashcroft will help you with all your embroidery questions. $30 Calendar Girls- Meets the 2nd Monday of each month at 6pm. Gather ‘round for a new pattern each month, based on the “Quilter’s Block of the Day Calendar” by Debbie Kratovil. A great way to use a stash or those fabrics we constantly hoard! And of course you could always go shopping for these small fun projects! $15 one time club fee

New Additions We now have three Viking Sewing machines to rent out. If you would like to use these machines instead of lugging your machine from home or if you know someone who might enjoy giving quilting a try the machines rent for $5/hr. You supply the thread and you’re ready to go!
